Now, that we inaugurate the 21th Century,
why not take a moment for reflection?...
An outlook into the near future reveals the likelihood
that, more and more, the managing of our daily lives may
depend on our use of computers.
From behind ours screens, we managed to transcend
space,
in the last decades of the 20th Century:
it became possible to reach anyone, anywhere,
in an instant,
and open the intimacy of our homes, and
personal space ,
to strangers from any spot on the globe.
The changes the internet has brought upon our lives,
as well as those yet to come,
carry, most likely, social and psychological implications
of fundamental significance.
Considering the relevance of such issues
in the years to come,
I leave here my invitation for reflection
as a closing note in these Greetings to you,
sent most Heartily your way,
at this unique moment in our lives.
