Have a Wonderful Holiday Season and a Very Happy 2001 + Millennium ahead! Special as this occasion is, I have special "Millennium Greetings" for all my friends. My music Let me take this occasion to remind you that, if you enjoy music, and would like to download some of my own recordings, you are welcome to click on the icon below. The link takes you to the sign-up page for my Music News  mailing list, a private mailing that allows my friends to find out where/how to download my recordings, as I upload them on the web. In most of these recordings, I am singing and playing the accoustic guitar; in a few of them I am also singing, but playing the bass, the organ, or the electric guitar, instead. New home: we have moved! Yes, Mie's NetScope: Music, F1 & Fun has found a new home with Portland Communications (as you will of course have noticed;). And more: the site now appears in new clothing, and offering some new stuff! Why have we moved? The old web site was now and again impossible to reach, visitors often getting to a blank page, instead of finding my warm welcome... So I had to set out to find a new host--not the easiest of jobs, when one also wishes to offer music on line (so many web providers forbid the presence of MP3 music!...in fact, something I'm still working on due to the limited bandwidth I had to settle for now.) But well, now here we are at our new home!:) And, while you start enjoying the new and the renewed stuff that you find on line, I'm getting busy with working out how to go about all the music that this page wishes to offer you (large as most music files are, these files will have to stand elsewhere). Please take a minute to look around and you'll find that the Mie's NetScope: Music & Fun site is a larger and better organized web site now. I surely hope you will enjoy the new additions and improvements, and will honor me with your company many more times!
Mie, Web-Wise has also moved! Yes, Mie, Web-Wise is now in a new home as well, with new clothing, and a lot more that's new! (It is also hosted by Portland Communications.) In other words, if you have previously given me the priviledge of your company there, then please take a minute to return and take a good look around! You'll find that the Mie, Web-Wise site has likewise grown and become better organized, during the time in which it was apparently hybernating on line. On this web site, which focuses on language and communication, one can find alternative perspectives regarding the language and communication realms, in addition to what's traditional in these areas. Besides the free Language HelpDesk service already mentioned above, there is more that is freely available on line, which you could possibly enjoy. New book on the market! Yes!   It is a book resulting from research work that plunged deeply into the dynamics of dealing with, as well as teaching/learning, music. This piece of work, it should be added, stands in harmonious compliance with the modern scientific paradigm, thus transcending in many degrees what might be referred to as musical tradition. The author is Moema Craveiro Campos, Brazilian pianist--in truth, a musician in every sense of the word (recitals, teaching, researching, now author). Further news will be posted regarding this relevant piece of work (available initially only in Portuguese, but plans for translation are underway).

My main Personal Page was inaugurated as a way of greeting my friends world 'round, after I had been "out of circulation" for a while. It'd be impossible to write to all friends as I wished, once I was up and starting to go about life again. So the idea of a page which friends could access at their own convenience seemed an ideal way (both practical and democratic) of filling in the gap. This is the genesis of the Mie, Web-Wise page, out of which page, the one that you are currently viewing came into existence. On that main personal page, in addition to a special section on Friendship, heartily dedicated to my friends, you can find a variety of topics of human interest, including a special and original section on human Time, lots of quotes, poetry, philosophical-minded and inspiring texts, images, music & lyrics (though not my music, and no MP3's either--these being made accessible through the page you are presently visiting), links, search engines, and more to come. Dynamic as both life and the web are, Mie, Web-Wise will always remain in some kind of "under construction" state: as life moves on, there is always going to be new stuff underway.
