Special Remarks:
Scuderia Toro Rosso, former Minardi Team, constitutes the sole exception in 2006, retaining their V-10 motor, which had been assured the then under-funded Minardi Team, for 2006. This V-10 motor is simply tuned down, so as to be fairly equivalent to the new V-8 motors which power all other Teams on the grid.
This inequivalency, especially in view of Scuderia Toro Rosso's not being limited to a tight budget, as Minardi was, has motivated a number of complaints from, in the off-Season. We might not have seen the last of these complaints if, as the Season rolls on, the performance of the limited V-10's reveals, as feared, a certain advantage over the now regular V-8 motors.
Super Aguri's SA05 is an updated Arrows A23 chassis, equipped with a V-8 Honda Motor, which will be raced in the first GP's.
The Team's SA106 is their self-built car, which they initially expected to roll out in time for the 2006 San Marino Grand Prix, though the aimed time-table suffered a few delays (see below), the new car finally taking to the track at the German Grand Prix–the third car initially proposed to be ready for Turkey Grand Prix.
(Before the race at Imola, the Super Aguri team had announced that the new car (SA106) should only be ready for SIlverstone, or later. After the Imola GP weekend, it was announced that their new car is was expected for the French Grand Prix, but, again, the Team faced a few delays to their plans.)
