- Ferrari's four motor replacements in Malaysia were due to Felipe Massa's car having required two motor changes. Christian Klien was the sole Ferrari-powered driver whose motor was trouble-free in the first pair of races, in 2006.
- BMW's engine replacement in Spain was not due to engine failure, but damage in transit. See Spanish GP Report for details.
- Takuma Sato (Honda) was given an engine change penalty, at the British Grand Prix, which was not due to engine failure, but to a car switch, instead. See British GP Report for details.
- At the German Grand Prix, Sakon Yamamoto (Honda) was likewise given an engine change penalty that was not due to engine failure, but–once more–to a car switch. See German GP Report for details.
- At the Hungarian Grand Prix, Christian Klien (Ferrari powered Red Bull) would also have been given an engine change penalty for a last minute car switch, but the team had him start from the pitlane. See Hungarian GP Report for details.
