1 Raced up to the San Marino Grand Prix,
then relocated to a test role, exclusively. Finally, shortly before the Spanish GP, as his superlicence was withdrawn by the FIA, it was reported that Ide would no longer be lining up for the Super Aguri team, this Season.
2 Promoted to Yuji Ide's race seat at the Nürbürgring
Franck Montagny is the 67th. French driver in F1 racing, & the 1st to line up since Olivier Panis retired from racing, after the 2004 GP of Japan.
3 Promoted to Franck Montagny's race seat at Hockenheim,
Sakon Yamamoto is
Yuji Ide's Japanese replacement at the Super Aguri team, after
Franck Montagny had filled in the seat for seven GP's.
4 Juan Pablo Montoya announced that, in 2007, he will be leaving F1, to be reunited with Chip Ganassi, his former Champ Car boss, now in the Ganassi 42 Dodge racing the popular American NASCAR Series. The July 9 news of
Montoya's switching F1 for Nascar was immediately followed by an announcement from McLaren (July 11) that the Colombian's departure from his racing seat would be effective right away. The Team took the care to add that Montoya's immediate departure was both in the driver's and the Team's interest. Montoya's last F1 race was at Indianapolis, a track where the Colombian driver has won the famous Indy 500 race.
5 Promoted to Juan Pablo Montoya's race seat at Magny-Cours. Team test driver
Pedro de la Rosa has been initially announced as
Juan Pablo Montoya's replacement at McLaren, for the foreseeable future. In other words, the McLaren Team might hand the seat to another driver, before the Season is over, presumably
Gary Paffet, their other test driver.
6
Robert Kubica replaces reportedly physically unfit
Jacques Villeneuve in the Hungaroring.
